Like the soldier in the battlefield without armor or a shield, our first responders enter the workforce and realize they were ill-prepared for the demands of a highly stressful work environment. Accordingly, this workshop will present the tools you need to fortify your mind and body to mitigate the negative effects of work-related stress, including mental distress and traumatic stress.
The preventative approach of psychological and emotional resilience training (PERT) can support the health and wellness of first responders in helping, caring, serving and protecting careers. It can help decrease mental distress and reduce the negative effects of traumatic stress, burnout and compassion fatigue. It can also help improve employee job satisfaction, retention, productivity and performance outcomes. You will learn the basic factors required to build the mental fortitude needed to thrive and succeed in all areas of life.
NOTE: Building a Mental Armor with Psychological & Emotional Resilience Training Workshop (Nov 10th) has been approved by AzPost for 1.5 hours of continual education for police officers and correctional officers. Any Peace Officers in attendance (virtually) must complete and submit a copy of the ARIZONA PEACE OFFICER STANDARDS AND TRAINING BOARD PROGRAM COMPLIANCE CONFIRMATION Document.
This workshop is also eligible for 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AzBBHE).
