Course Requirements

This program is compatible with both the Windows and Mac operating systems.

Full setup instructions and technical requirements are provided after accessing each module in the course.

The following are the minimum system requirements necessary to access the modules included in the Mobile Web Developer course. All of these items can be downloaded for free:

  1. A Web browser. You will need the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.
  2. Any text or HTML editor.  Suggested editors for each platform are as follows:
    • Windows
      • Notepad (included in Windows) or Textpad 
      • Adobe Dreamweaver
      • Crimson Editor (free)
    • Mac OS X
      • Adobe Dreamweaver
      • TextMate, TextEdit (included in Mac OS X) or TextWrangler 

Manuals are included as downloadable PDFs throughout the program.

There are no specific prerequisites for this program, but students should be reasonably knowledgeable about computers and using the internet.

Instructor Bio

Nat Dunn founded Webucator in 2003 to combine his passion for web development with his business expertise in order to help companies benefit from both. Nat began programming games in Basic on a TRS-80 at age 14. He has been developing websites and providing web development training since 1998. Nat is President and Chief Executive Officer of Webucator, is a Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+), and holds a BA (Pomona College) and an MBA (Harvard Business School).

Brian Hoke is Principal of Bentley Hoke, a web consulting firm in Syracuse, New York. The firm serves the professional services, education, government, nonprofit, and retail sectors with a variety of development, design, and marketing services. Core technologies for the firm include PHP and Wordpress, JavaScript and jQuery, Ruby on Rails, and HTML5/CSS3. Previously, Brian served as Director of Technology, Chair of the Computer and Information Science Department, and Dean of Students at Manlius Pebble Hill School, an independent day school in DeWitt, NY. Before that, Brian taught at Insitut auf dem Rosenberg, an international boarding school in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Brian holds degrees from Hamilton and Dartmouth colleges.
