Jacquelyn “Jacque” Ahrenberg
Jacque brings over 23 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, strategic planning, and development leadership to her role as the founder and CEO of Resolute Nonprofit Consulting.
Before founding Resolute nine years ago, Jacque served as the sole development officer for several small nonprofits, leading capital campaigns, major and planned giving initiatives, special events, and annual giving programs.
At Resolute, Jacque and her team partner with mission-driven organizations across various sectors, including arts and culture, human services, rural, and tribal nonprofits, to build sustainable funding systems, strengthen internal capacity, and align funding strategies with their missions.
Her leadership at Resolute is rooted in equity, data-informed fundraising, and systems-level thinking. Her approach emphasizes partnering deeply with nonprofits—not just as a consultant but as a steward of long-term sustainability. She believes in creating resilient funding ecosystems, fostering donor trust, and aligning strategies with mission-driven impact.
Andy Andress
Andy Andress is a versatile leader with extensive experience in higher education and healthcare. As CEO and a board member of Pima Medical Institute (PMI), he advances access to healthcare careers by training the practitioners of tomorrow.
PMI is an accredited institution committed to delivering high-quality healthcare education and training to students who aspire to make a meaningful impact in their lives and communities. The institution serves more than 10,000 students pursuing certificates and associate degrees in medical, dental, and veterinary fields across its four campuses in Arizona. With a network of over 175,000 alumni, PMI stands as a key partner to healthcare employers throughout the Western United States.
Prior to his current role, Andy served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations at BrightStar Care, a home health franchisor with more than 200 locations. He also held the position of Chief Operating Officer for Adtalem’s International Medical Segment, where he oversaw leading medical and veterinary schools. Andy currently serves on the board of The Valley College of Osteopathic Medicine in Phoenix.
Courtney Baker
Dr. Courtney E. Baker is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Chief of Organizational Health & Experience for the Phoenix VA Health Care System.
As Chief of Organizational Health, she develops system-wide strategies to support a thriving workforce and culture that cultivates occupational well-being, efficiency of practice, and resilience in all staff. She oversees Veteran experience and collaborates across the system to enhance Veteran satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
In addition to her role as Chief of Organizational Health, she is a trauma specialist who spent 8.5 years working in the Phoenix PTSD Clinical Team (PCT), where she served as PTSD Team Lead for 5 years. She specializes in using evidence-based practices to treat PTSD in individual and group formats.
For over 5 years, she has had the privilege of training more than 150 VA staff across the country in Strength at Home, an evidence-based intervention for Veterans who use intimate partner violence behaviors (IPV). Dr. Baker has been heavily involved in VA research and currently serves as a Co-Investigator for two ongoing projects focused on improving the identification of Veterans in PTSD treatment who could benefit from adjunctive support through a partner-assisted approach to Prolonged Exposure.
Peter Boyle
Peter Boyle is Senior Director for Education at the Center for the Future of Arizona, where he leads the Center's work in educational leadership, college- and career-connected pathways, and strategic education initiatives.
Prior to joining CFA, Peter was Founding School Director of Western School of Science and Technology, and under his leadership, it became the highest-performing public high school in west Phoenix. He has been named Faculty Associate of the Year in the Arizona State University Master's in Educational Leadership program (2025), statewide Educator Honoree by the Children's Action Alliance (2018), TeamCFA's national Administrator of the Year (2018), won the Maryvale Revitalization Corporation Educating Excellence award (2015), and was named to Phoenix Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2025.
Peter is a graduate of Valley Leadership, Class 38, and Scottsdale Leadership, Class 39, and is a Teach For America alum. He currently serves on the Board of the Coronado High School Foundation for the Future.
He holds a B.S. from the University of North Carolina, an M.Ed. from Arizona State University, and an educational leadership certificate from Stanford University. In 2022, he was elected to represent District 1 on the Governing Board of the East Valley Institute of Technology, where he currently serves as Vice President.
Marea Bryson
Marea Bryson is a Talent Management Executive with over 20 years of experience across healthcare, financial services, and higher education. At Banner Health, she leads enterprise-wide talent initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, career mobility, and workforce readiness for more than 55,000 team members.
Since joining Banner in 2020, Marea and her team have launched several system-wide programs, including Banner Rising, Career Pathways, and the Career Management Portal—collectively strengthening internal pipelines and supporting thousands of team members. Her partnership with the Banner Foundation has also secured over $2.7 million in workforce development grants across Arizona and Colorado.
Before joining Banner, Marea led corporate learning at JPMorgan Chase, supporting more than 40,000 employees globally. She is known for building inclusive, high-performing teams and believes deeply in the power of trust, purpose, and connection to drive lasting impact.
Marea holds a B.A. in Communication and a Master’s in Human Resources. She enjoys life in Arizona with her husband and their three children.
Vicki Buchda
Vicki Buchda, MS, RN, NEA-BC serves as Senior Advisor, Care Improvement for the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association.
She is responsible for contributing to the organization’s mission to advance health and healthcare in Arizona by leading collaboratives to improve patient safety, patient experience, healthcare outcomes, health equity, and workforce.
She is a highly skilled professional with demonstrated expertise in clinical and system leadership. Vicki is passionate about harm prevention, including harm from opioids, maternal health, advance care planning, health equity, and the workforce.
Vicki has served in nursing and leadership roles within health systems including Mayo Clinic, Hawaii Pacific Health, and Banner Health.
Joann Bueno
Joann Bueno, PHR, brings nearly two decades of experience in apprenticeships and workforce development, topics she is deeply passionate about. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and began her career in marketing and advertising for various multinational brands before transitioning to human resources in the construction industry, where she developed expertise in employee engagement, compliance, training, and talent acquisition.
As a Certified Professional in Human Resources and the current State Apprenticeship Program Director at the Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Workforce Solutions Administration, Joann leads the Arizona Apprenticeship Office in forging strong partnerships with employers, industry leaders, community colleges, CTE districts, and workforce agencies.
Through her leadership, she is helping shape Arizona’s workforce landscape by expanding Registered Apprenticeships, opening career pathways, producing highly skilled talent, and strengthening the state’s labor market.
Stephen Dahmer
As Director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (AWCIM), Dr. Stephen Dahmer is a champion for integrative medicine and an integral force in transforming modern healthcare. As a cornerstone of the University of Arizona, AWCIM empowers thousands of healthcare practitioners to deliver evidence-based, integrative care that profoundly impacts lives.
In his dual role as director and practicing physician, Dr. Dahmer is unwavering in his commitment to pioneering new standards in compassionate, patient-centered care through research, teaching, and clinical practice. Dr. Dahmer’s dedication to reshaping healthcare has taken him across the globe, from the favelas of Brazil and the Māori communities in New Zealand to service as a hospitalist in the Navajo Nation in Arizona.
With a medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and fellowship training in Integrative Family Medicine at AWCIM, his distinguished career has included academic and clinical roles at institutions such as Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the University of Arizona. He is triple board certified in Family, Integrative, and Lifestyle Medicine.
Throughout his journey, Dr. Dahmer has held influential positions, including Lead Physician at Iora Health, Chief Medical Officer at Goodness Growth, and founding Primary Care Physician at Sana Care. His research focuses on uncovering the real-world outcomes of integrative therapies and the healing potential of medicinal plants, driving forward a vision of healthcare that nurtures and inspires both practitioners and patients.
Sunshine Dean
With more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and leadership, Sunshine Dean serves as the Director of Finance for Devereux Arizona. She oversees all regional financial operations, ensuring fiscal integrity, strategic alignment, and sustainable growth across a broad continuum of behavioral health and human service programs. Her leadership blends clinical insight with financial acumen, advancing mission-driven strategies that strengthen access and impact statewide.
Sunshine’s career is rooted in a diverse foundation spanning clinical and medical operations, business development, contracting, and finance, supported by a long history of leading multidisciplinary teams across complex healthcare environments. This breadth of experience enables her to bridge the gap between operational excellence and financial stewardship, driving both organizational performance and quality of care.
She holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Leadership, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University, as well as an Associate of Science in Nursing from Yavapai College. A licensed Registered Nurse, Sunshine is recognized for her expertise in Medicaid and AHCCCS, organizational development, strategic planning, and integrated care systems.
Guided by a commitment to equity, accountability, and innovation, Sunshine leverages financial leadership to expand access to compassionate, high-quality behavioral health care throughout Arizona.
Steven R. Gonzales
Dr. Steven R. Gonzales became Chancellor for the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) in 2022. Before serving as the interim Chancellor for two years, Dr. Gonzales was the eighth president of GateWay Community College, one of ten MCCCD community colleges. Prior to GateWay, Dr. Gonzales served as the acting Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer for Central Arizona College in Pinal County.
Dr. Gonzales has nearly twenty-seven years of instructional and administrative experience in higher education. His community involvement is vast and includes serving on Greater Phoenix Leadership, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council Board of Directors, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Terros Health Board of Directors, Phoenix Forward Healthcare Leadership Council, the City of Phoenix Workforce Development Board of Directors, the Phoenix Community Alliance Education Advisory Committee, as well as the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Coolidge Rotary, and the Pinal County Town Hall Executive Planning Committee.
Dr. Gonzales’ scholarly work includes articles in the New Directions for Community Colleges journal and a chapter in Generation X Presidents Leading Community Colleges: New Challenges, New Leaders.
Dr. Gonzales earned his doctorate in educational administration in the Community College Leadership Program from the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education – Mathematics from Northern Arizona University.
Todd Haynie
President Todd Haynie’s roots run deep in the area Eastern Arizona College serves. Raised in Graham and Greenlee County, he is a proud alumnus of EAC.
President Haynie worked in private industry as a producer for the Educational Management Group and as a software engineer for IBM. He has been with EAC for 25 years, having previously overseen both the Enrollment Management and Marketing and Public Relations Offices. He has served as the College’s 22nd president since 2018.
Under his leadership, President Haynie has guided EAC through two comprehensive strategic planning processes, launched initiatives to strengthen academic programming, and transformed the College’s approach to the student experience, focusing on student success. President Haynie’s guiding pillars for his administration are student success, community engagement, and fiscal responsibility.
He is past chair of the Arizona Community College Coordinating Council and serves as a commissioner for the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.
William A. (Bill) Kennard
Bill Kennard is the Administrator of Healthcare Workforce Development at the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).
A career talent development professional, Bill has over forty years of experience as an executive, consultant, author, and educator, developing and implementing recruitment, selection, and training retention solutions for healthcare systems and organizations.
Before joining AHCCCS in 2018, Bill led Boston University’s Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation’s consultation and training group, where he and his colleagues assisted behavioral health organizations, colleges, and universities in establishing rehabilitation practitioner training and development programs and systems throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Barb Lang
Barb Lang brings more than 25 years of executive leadership in behavioral health, public policy, and integrated care innovation.
A trusted advisor to the Arizona Governor and Legislature, she helped advance major laws improving youth and foster care systems, victims’ rights, and healthcare governance. Her leadership has extended beyond state lines, serving on the National Quality Forum Board for Behavioral and Substance Abuse and the CARF national workgroup rewriting standards for crisis services.
Earlier in her career, she expanded access to integrated care across rural and underserved communities in Arizona. Her work earned her the Women in Rural Health Award in 2017. She currently serves as the Public Health Director for Cochise County. In October, she was awarded the Pete Wertheim Public Health Leadership Award.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Independent Substance Abuse Counselor, Certified Sex Offender Treatment Specialist, and former State Opioid Treatment Authority (SOTA).
Todd LaPorte
With now 40 years of diverse experience in healthcare, Todd LaPorte leads an integrated health system with six acute-care hospitals, a rehab facility, a behavioral health facility, an extensive footprint of outpatient services (through medical group practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and various forms of urgent care settings), and an array of community services (including a food bank and an anchor role with a community well-being Blue Zones project).
To advance HonorHealth’s mission to improve the health and well-being of the community, he creates an environment where every team member—approximately 20,000 clinical and support staff, volunteers, and physicians—collaborate to deliver an exceptional patient experience and make a positive impact on the community. The scale of employees makes HonorHealth one of the top ten employers in Arizona.
Since joining HonorHealth in 2001, Todd has held executive roles focused on financial and strategic leadership. He has shaped a system with many access points to provide convenience for patients, promoted innovative technologies, and engaged employees and physicians at a top quartile level as measured by industry benchmarks. In April 2017, Todd became the 10th CEO in more than 150 years of HonorHealth history.
Prior to HonorHealth, he held senior management roles for an international CPA firm that served many Arizona healthcare clients, as well as clients in high-tech manufacturing and consumer services. He was also the CFO of a privately held healthcare company that served more than a half million Arizonans.
Todd was named CFO of the Year by the Arizona chapter of the Financial Executives International in 2012 and was recognized by Becker's Healthcare in 2024 as one of the "Great Leaders in Healthcare.” He is a CPA and holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Arizona State University.
Todd has served as board chair for a chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Scottsdale Aquatic Club, the Paradise Valley School District’s supporting Foundation for Public Education, and the Health System Alliance of Arizona. He currently serves on the boards of Experience Scottsdale, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Health Insights, and the American Hospital Association’s board for its Region 8. He is also a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership.
Melissa Leasher
With over 20 years of experience, Melissa is a certified nonprofit professional (CNP) who empowers others through workforce development and program management.
Her strong background in program development, business and education partnerships, and strategic planning contributes to goal achievement and the success of high-performing teams.
As the Education and Workforce Manager for the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation, Melissa facilitates the Healthcare Workforce Collaborative, ensuring positive outcomes on the Collaborative’s initiatives and developing innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
Additionally, Melissa facilitates business partnerships for the Foundation’s ElevateEdAZ program, providing crucial career awareness and work-based learning experiences for high school students.
Kate Lemke
Kate Lemke is a healthcare workforce consultant and aging advocate with extensive experience advancing long-term care and strengthening career pathways across the healthcare sector.
She has led statewide initiatives that align employers, education systems, and public-sector partners to improve retention, expand training capacity, and ensure every person can age with dignity and independence. Kate specializes in turning workforce data into strategy, building partnerships, and designing scalable pathways that support providers and workers at every level of healthcare.
Her commitment is both professional and personal. As a caregiver, she champions policies and programs that recognize the critical value of frontline workers and the communities they support.
Kate holds an MBA from Alverno College and a BA in Community Leadership and Development, and she is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education. She works independently with mission-driven organizations to build the healthcare workforce of the future.
Jackie Lundblad
Jackie Lundblad earned her bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and her master’s in healthcare administration from Duke University. With more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she has worked across a wide range of areas and developed deep expertise in healthcare operations, financial management, operational improvement, and strategic planning.
Over the course of her career, Jackie has spent more than half of her time as a consultant, gaining valuable insights into the inner workings of healthcare organizations. She previously served as Principal in Charge of the Healthcare Practice for Arthur Andersen in Arizona and New Mexico and held senior executive positions with Sun Health Corporation and the A.I. DuPont Institute for Children. She often emphasizes that “the key to a successful operation is cash.”
Outside of her professional life, Jackie’s greatest joy is her family. She and her husband, Peter, have three daughters and two sons, ranging in age from 25 to 37. Together, they enjoy staying active and traveling to favorite destinations such as the beach and Disneyland. Jackie is also a published author.
Mindy McEntee
Mindy McEntee is an assistant professor at Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions.
Trained as a clinical psychologist, her research uses an environmental systems perspective to examine how modifiable contextual factors (such as organizational culture, stigma, workflows, and technical infrastructure) affect health, and how this knowledge can be applied to more effectively address health inequities and improve health outcomes.
Dr. McEntee is the director of the ASU Community Health Worker Training Program (CHW-TP) and is passionate about improving CHW workforce development and implementation of weight-inclusive care.
Erin McGehean
With over 20 years of experience in higher education and workforce development, Erin McGehean has dedicated her career to guiding students toward careers that provide economic mobility. She began her career in college advising and advanced into leadership and strategic partnership roles. Erin has a proven track record of empowering students to navigate complex educational pathways.
Erin earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies and an M.Ed. in Human Relations, both through Northern Arizona University. She worked for Northern Arizona University for over 14 years and is now a Project Manager at the Center for the Future of Arizona.
With CFA, she is working on the Arizona Pathways to Prosperity initiative, convening partners in education and workforce systems. A passionate advocate for student success, Erin is committed to removing barriers and fostering a culture of opportunity and achievement for all students.
Amy Meyertholen
Amy Meyertholen is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Arizona Council of Human Service Providers.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. With over 15 years of experience as a social worker, Amy began her career in direct practice with children and families before transitioning to program development and project management.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, gardening, quiet spaces, and spending time with her favorite people and pets.
John Molina
Dr. John Molina is Pascua Yaqui and Yavapai Apache. He is the Director for the Arizona Advisory Council on Indian Health Care, a state agency whose mission is to advocate for increasing access to high-quality health care programs for Native Americans in Arizona.
Dr. Molina has worked within the Indian Health Service system for over 30 years as an OB/GYN physician and Health Service Administrator. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, and Arizona State University, College of Law.
He also received an honorary doctoral degree in letters from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Kirksville, Missouri, as the founder of Las Fuentes Health Clinic to provide healthcare to his community of Guadalupe, Arizona. His interests are in the alignment of Indigenous Medicine and Western Medicine, and Indian Health Care Law and Policy.
Karen Ofafa
Karen Ofafa, EdD, MPH, BSN, RN serves as Vice President of Care Improvement at the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA).
In this role, she is responsible for advancing the organization’s mission by providing oversight and leading collaboratives related to workforce, health equity, and patient safety.
In her role, she oversaw the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Arizona Statewide Transition to Practice Program for newly licensed Registered Nurses.
Karen has demonstrated success with improving nurse retention, implementing competency-based workforce solutions, and improving healthcare quality.
Patti Pastor
Patti Pastor serves as Career Exploration Coordinator and Instructor at Flagstaff Unified School District, bringing more than 20 years of leadership across education and business.
Formerly Chief Operating Officer of a small business for over two decades, she led hiring and training, financial management, marketing, and community relations, experience that informs her practical, workforce-driven approach to education.
In her current role, Patti advances Career & Technical Education (CTE) and career-connected learning through innovative programming, strong employer partnerships, and hands-on student experiences. She is a founding member of the Northern Arizona Healthcare Workforce Planning Committee and a long-standing partner of the Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA), helping align regional education and workforce priorities.
Patti holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Career and Technical Education and is passionate about creating equitable pathways from classroom to career.
Moises Pimentel
Currently serving as a Regional Project Manager for College and Career Pathways at the Center for the Future of Arizona, Moises is dedicated to building and expanding pathways for career exploration, early college programs, and work-based learning opportunities within Arizona’s southwest region.
With nearly a decade of experience in workforce development, he began his career providing services to underserved youth through Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs and later supported a wide variety of industries through WIOA Business Services.
Now, Moises leverages his strong employer relationships to bridge industry and education, strengthening Yuma County’s career pathways ecosystem. He remains deeply committed to empowering students and schools to thrive and ensuring students can access meaningful career opportunities and economic prosperity in the region.
Sue Roe
Dr. Sue Roe is principal and senior practice consultant of The Roe Group Enterprises, Senior Consultant of Holistic Nursing Exploration Hub, and facilitator of the Arizona Healthcare Workforce Action Network.
Her focus is on workforce development and enrichment, leadership, holistic practice, competency-based and core curriculum, assessment, and instructional design. She has developed academic, training, and continuing education programs in nursing, allied health, business, leadership, wellness, and research.
She serves in leadership roles in several professional associations and speaks locally and nationally. She authored The Nursing Assistant: Essentials of Holistic Care and is currently co-authoring Caring Holistically: A Pathway to Wellness.
Dr. Roe earned her BSN and MS in Nursing at the University of Arizona and her Doctorate in Administration and Health Policy at Arizona State University. She has received recognition and awards for her professional leadership and accomplishments and is considered a community leader, skillful facilitator, accomplished administrator, and change agent.
Kathy Scott
Dr. Kathy Scott is a seasoned healthcare executive, consultant, and thought leader recognized for transforming organizations through complex adaptive systems and innovative leadership.
With a distinguished career spanning executive roles as Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Innovation Officer, and Chief Integration Officer, she has led large-scale clinical and operational transformations focused on quality, safety, and workforce development.
A published author and respected speaker on leadership, clinical transformation, and patient safety, Dr. Scott brings both strategic insight and practical experience to every engagement.
Currently, she serves as consultant to the Arizona State Board of Nursing, overseeing Grant 1803, a $75 million state-funded initiative expanding preceptor training and workforce capacity across Arizona’s healthcare system. Her work continues to advance the alignment of education, practice, and policy to strengthen the state’s nursing pipeline and build sustainable healthcare infrastructure.
Amber Smith
Amber Smith is the CEO of the nonprofit Pipeline Connects, formerly known as Pipeline AZ. Amber leads her team to close opportunity gaps and strengthen the state’s workforce ecosystem.
With more than two decades of experience in government affairs, economic development, and nonprofit leadership, Amber has built a career around uniting people and systems to solve complex challenges. Under her leadership, Pipeline Connects is transforming Arizona’s workforce landscape by aligning education, training, and employment systems, ensuring every Arizonan has access to clear and connected career pathways.
Previously, Amber served in leadership roles across business and civic organizations and began her career working for Senator John McCain. She is Chair of the Pima Community College Foundation Board and a founding board member of the Southern Arizona Defense Alliance.
A lifelong advocate for service and community impact, Amber brings both strategic vision and real-world perspective to her mission of empowering Arizona’s workforce.
Stephen Sparks
Stephen Sparks is originally from Memphis, Tennessee, and moved to Phoenix in 2000 as part of a year of volunteer service through AmeriCorps.
Stephen has spent over 25 years working in both government and the nonprofit human services sector, addressing complex issues such as poverty and homelessness.
He earned his master’s degree in public administration from Arizona State University and currently serves as the Executive Director for Arizona Career Pathway, a nonprofit that works in partnership with the Maricopa Community Colleges to provide career navigation through a wraparound support model for lower-income and first-generation students.
Joseph "Sepp" Sprietsma
Before joining the Center for the Future of Arizona, Joseph “Sepp” Sprietsma spent four years working with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Initiative – Building Healthy Communities.
This four-year, three-million-dollar grant-funded project was based on Collective Impact practices and a formal partnership with the Cochise County School Superintendent’s Office, Cochise County Health and Social Services, the Community Foodbank of Southern Arizona, and First Things First. The initiative used the Cochise Health Improvement Plan to address issues in public health and economic development.
The effort evolved and expanded to include food security, PPE supply chain, community leadership development, and broadening the collective impact network due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Sepp’s educational background includes a master’s degree in education from Northern Arizona University in Higher Education and Community College Leadership, a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Evergreen State College in Cultural Anthropology and Natural History, secondary teacher training from Prescott College, and an Associate of Arts degree from Yavapai College.
Jeni Sumner
Jeni Sumner is a healthcare and workforce development leader with a diverse background in business, clinical laboratory science, and education. A Phoenix native, she began her career supporting the CEO of Discount Tire Company before transitioning into laboratory science, serving as Hematology/Coagulation Manager at Yuma Regional Medical Center.
Jeni later led allied health and CTE initiatives as Director at Arizona Western College and Executive Director at STEDY, where she helped launch the district. She currently serves as Director of Clinical Workforce Development at HonorHealth, driving strategies to strengthen Arizona’s healthcare talent pipeline.
A former SAWLA fellow with the Center for the Future of Arizona, Jeni is passionate about building sustainable, community-focused workforce solutions. She holds a B.S. in Life Sciences from Arizona State University, a master’s in healthcare management from the University of Arizona, and certifications as a Medical Laboratory Technician and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
Doug Walls
Doug Walls is a seasoned economist and the current Labor Market Information Director for the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO).
In his current role, Doug manages a team of economists focused on transforming data into actionable information to support workforce development policy throughout Arizona.
Doug earned a Master of Science degree in Resource Economics from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from Western Michigan University.
