This program provides a comprehensive overview of how mental health technicians treat patients coping with a variety of mental health issues like drug and alcohol addiction, physical abuse, depression, anxiety, etc. The program is divided into 14 courses, which cover a number of topics including suicide awareness, developmental influences, and various communication methods.
What You'll Learn
- Understand an overview of the basics so you can communicate effectively in your role.
- Learn how to recognize behavioral patterns so you can help others manage their impairments.
- Understand the following topics: assessing a patient, properly diagnosing their issues, and generally following a five (5) step sequential process to assist them towards better mental health.
- Learn professional communication techniques for a healthcare office, including the use of medical terminology and patient-accessible language.
