CompTIA A+ with ITIL Foundation (Vouchers Included)

The CompTIA A+ Certification is a critical first step in opening the door to your Information Technology (IT) career. The ITIL Foundation is the entry level certification and offers you a general awareness of the key elements, concepts, and terminology used in the ITIL® service lifecycle, including the links between lifecycle stages, the processes used, and their contribution to service management practices.

CT-012 CompTIA A+ Exam 220-901
This part of the program prepares you for the CompTIA 220-901 certification exam and builds practical job skills for computer hardware, networking and mobile devices. These skills include the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of common devices such as desktops, laptops, network and wireless devices, printers, and monitors. You’ll master the installation and troubleshooting of common components such as CPUs, memory, disks, power supplies, and expansion cards, as well as gain valuable practical knowledge of security concepts, customer service, and business processes.

CT-013 CompTIA A+ Exam 220-902
This part of the program will prepare you for the CompTIA 220-902 exam. You will learn to compare and install various operating systems, setup and use client-side virtualization and SOHO networks, and troubleshoot PC and mobile device operating systems. These are the skills expected of an entry-level IT technician who will have a high level of interaction with clients.

ITIL Foundation
The Foundation level will offer you a general understanding of the key elements, concepts and terminology of the ITIL life cycle, including how each stage links to one another and their wider contribution to service management.

The ITIL Foundation is a popular qualification sought by employers in IT Service Management as ITIL is one of the most popular frameworks. This online course provides you with all that you need to pass the ITIL Foundation certification, including videos, PDF study guides, quizzes, and a practice exam.

Upon completion of the program, you will be given vouchers to sit for each exam.

This program is entirely online and is completed at your own pace. When you register, you will receive nine (9) months to complete this program.

This program is compatible with the Windows 7 and later operating systems and all current internet browsers.

This program can be taken on either a Mac or a PC. You'll need to have e-mail capabilities.

Note: The Online Lab System is compatible with PC and Mac computers. All students are provided detailed instructions for setting-up a home virtual lab system as well.

You will receive a copy of A+ Guide to IT Technical Support, Ninth Edition, upon registration.

ITIL Foundation
You can take this program on a PC (Window XP or higher is required) or a Mac.

The following are the minimum system requirements are necessary to access the lessons

  • A Web Browser (IE 8 and above or Firefox) with Adobe Flash Player installed. (Flash Player 10 recommended)\
  • A reliable Internet connection of at least 1 Mbps – to view video tutorials
  • Minimum specification of 128 MB (256MB recommended) RAM and a minimum of a 500MHz Processor
  • Minimum Screen Display Size of 15” (17” widescreen or above recommended)
  • Headphones or speakers connected to your computer – to listen to video tutorials

For Web Based Exams (in addition to the above):

  • Any web cam with a minimum of 640×480 video pixel resolution – including both external and built-in web cams
  • A microphone connected to your computer
  • Authority to install software on your computer
  • A minimum internet connection speed of 0.350 Mbps

Prerequisites

To enroll in this program, you should have basic knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems—for example, how to power up and log on to a machine, how to use a mouse and keyboard, and basic Microsoft Windows navigation skills.

The team includes:

David Grimes. David brings over 10 years experience in IT, education, instruction, curriculum design, combined with extensive management and leadership experience in the private and non-profit sectors. His passion for technology and education has led David to work as an academic dean, student services director, technology coordinator, teacher, consultant, and technology columnist and blogger.

David holds a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Science, both in Technology Education, from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, he has earned IT industry certifications and has been published in a book on gamification in the classroom.

Chintan Thakkar. Chintan has 10+ years of teaching and instructional designer experience in Information Technology. His areas of expertise include networking, and server and storage systems management. He has also developed complex software using various programming languages. From an instructional design and teaching perspective, Chintan is focused on (Cisco) CCNA, Networking, Server, and Cloud Computing courses.

Chintan holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas, and earned his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Computer Engineering from South Gujarat University in Surat, India.

Aaron Appleby. Aaron brings over 10 years experience in technology and technology-related instructional design, teaching and tutoring. His experience includes instructional design and curriculum development for Loyola University Medical Center, DeVry University, as well as corporate training clients.

Aaron holds a Master of Science Education in Learning Design and Technology, from Purdue University, in West Lafayette, Indiana; and a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology from the University of Illinois/Urbana Champaign, in Champaign, Illinois.

Laurel Eismann. Laurel has over 20 years experience in Information Technology, curriculum development and teaching. In addition to her extensive teaching background, Laurel's experience includes instructional design, programming, business requirements analysis, and quality assurance. She couples this experience with a strong and diverse technical background.

Laurel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.
